Non-native. Used as herbal remedy. 2-4 feet in height.

Flower: Stalkless flowers surrounding stem in upper part of planr. ~1/3 inch. Tubular. Covered with white hairs.

Leaves: Deeply lobed into 3-5 parts. Resemble Maple leaves.

Square stem, mostly unbranched. Colonies from spreading rhizomes. Fruit are sharp to the touch.

Weedy, disturbed areas. Fields. White Pine Trail, Big Rapids, Mi., 9/16, 6845, 6846
