Native to Western North America. The state flower of Oregon.
Evergreen shrub. Up to 6 feet tall.
Leaves, dark green,compound, and holly shaped. Pointed tips.
Clumps of yellow flowers that turn into blue berries that look like grapes. Not a grape.
Prefers shade or partial shade. Drought tolerant.
Found White Pine Trail, 1/2 mile north of Muskegon bridge, side of trail.Big Rapids, Mi. Edge of woods. May 14.
