Blackberries nd Dewberries are difficult to distinguish due to their great variability.

Shrub 3-8 feet tall. Arching canes with prickles. 5-petaled crinkled flowers with prominent yellow stamens.

Leaves palmately compound with 3-5 leaflets.. Serrated edges. Paler underside. Prickles on petiole.

Roadsides, edge of woods and fields.
