Also called Ghost plant or Ghost pipe. Translucent herbaceous perennial. No chlorophyl. Parasitic. It's host is mycorrhizal fungi.

White but may also be pink. Flower is nodding. As it ages black spots appear and the plant becomes upright.

Leaves are waxy translucent white scales.

Plant 4-10 inches tall.
