Native, perennial. 11-4 feet tall.

Leaves up to 6 inches long. Toothed, pointed, minimal to no leaf stem. Opposite, the leaves below at 90 degrees. 

Flowers in spikes are 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Two lobes. Flowers from bottom of spike upward.
