Leaves are heart -shaped,1-2 inches long.
Flower is 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter. Long stalked. Throat of flower is white, not yellow in center as in canadensis.
Lateral petals have fine white hair near throat. Lowermost petal has purple veins.
