Native, woody shrub up to 15 feet tall. Perennial. 

Also called Swamp sumac and Thunderwood. Previously Rhus Vernix.

ALL PARTS CONTAIN URUSHINOL WHICH IS A SKIN IRRITANT.

Flowers are in clusters from leaf axils. Less  than 1/4 inch. Male and female on seperate plants.

Leaves are compund, toothless and shinny.
