Often an excape from cultivation. Taller than other Phlox. Native. Perennial. Up to 6 feet tall.

Flowers in a cluster at top of plant. Individual flowers 1/2 to 3/4 inches across. 5 petals, fused at base.

Leaves are thin, toothless and opposite.
