Plants 1-3 feet tall. Milky juice. Leaves grass-like, clasp stem.
Flowers usually close by noon. 1-2 1/2 inches in diameter. Bracts longer than ray flowers. Stem swollen below flower head.
Fruit: Seed head similar to Dandelion but twice as large.
Roadsides and dry places.
